Organic Tee Shirt Collection by the Mountain
This year, the Mountain introduces a line of
tees that are dyed and printed in organic cotton. These shirts are
more expensive not only because they are organic by industry standard but
because they are truly organic. The styling of these shirts is identical
to the Classic Cut you are used to. For more information on the Organic

It is not public knowledge, but under current law, companies can label their
shirts as "organic" so long as a small percentage of the cotton used as been
organically grown. Many of these so-called organic tees contain less than
10% organic cotton. The majority of the tees in this new line are being
printed on 100% organic cotton. This means that every inch of these shirts
are made from organically grown cotton. What's more exciting is that
the Mountain buys some of the organic cotton used in this collection from a
group of farmers within the US known as 'Transitional Farmers". What that
means is they are slowly transitioning from changing over from traditional
methods of growing cotton to organic growing methods. It the course of changing over, it can take the farmers over
three years to nurture or "heal' the ground.
By helping the farmers make that transition, the Mountain is encouraging organic growing practices which will result in a growing number of farmers willing to work towards the future to obtain a plentiful supply of this beautiful organic fabric.
